Actually, it could also be:
a.) Channel taking the opinions of it's viewers too seriously
b.) Channel being stupid enough to listen to the Trolls instead of the real audience.

Actually Gurren,Hayate and Shana were dubbed by the same group and its all awful IMHO..These animes deserved only to be aired in subs and not dubbed by those pathetic Hong Kong dubbers in english,they those parasites masquerading as so-called voice artists(sic) don't deserve these animes!!

Yes, the cosplayer is attractive, but she's just all wrong for the pic. Seeing that, I'm getting weird reminders of the horde of Naruto cosplayers I last saw in Manifest (Melbourne Anime Festival)–with 70% of cosplayers playing Naruto characters…BADLY.

as to Animax going downhill–you can liken it to the Discovery Channel moving from showing -actual science and technology- to cooking shows, American Chopper, and Pimp My Ride. Eventually somethign will degrade in order to gain the least common denominator; i.e. the general public.

This is actually why I have issues with most anime fans (especially the overly vocal ones), Anime-related TV channels, et. al., they usually end up focusing on anime and manga I couldn't give a rat's about. I'm at the point that I avoid anything that openly boasts about anime, because it'll be more of the anime cliches than the substance; i.e. more pie than pizza, or more beans than pork.

Really, mainstream in general sucks, especially if you're like me who happens to be interested in stuff that mainstream fans laugh at.

I agree.. poor dub. Kugyu's voice is not like this…I scratched my head when I heard the dub version's shut up (x3)…
