whoa, being in japan is that different? I thought it was supposed to be just like in other asian countries (phillipines, Indonesia, malaysia, thailand)

I pretty much had the same social experiance as you, Though I am not a very out going person and I was there with a friend, PPL are really nice and all but I never got past that wall of nice ness to see who the ppl really where (if that makes sense lol) Also it is really weird how even though its definately not what you expected there you still feel a yearning to go back with a little bit of the expectations you previously had (lol once again if that makes sense, I am pretty sure you know what i mean. )

Actually, if Japan is the only 1st-world country you've been too. Being polite and impersonal is a trait of Northern countries.

Me, I'd rather feel safe and not care about other people rather than have to be friendly with everyone, then get robbed by these 'friendly' people.

Of course, as one of the most anti-social Filipinos, I prefer my peace and quiet.

Although I don't like it that trains stop service by midnight… it's either late night or overnight when you want to have fun hehe.
