How do you end up here?

By bluemist on May 14th, 2006

I was browsing through my stats today, and… behold! I found myself giggling at the sight of the search phrases some people use. Basically, some of you probably found this site using a search engine right? So let me tell the most popular search terms you use, as well as some rather amusing ones that, well, amuse me.

These phrases are from the very recent days only it seems, but hopefully it is a precise description of what kind of topics people want to find in this blog.

Top 10 Specific
yogurting – I guess Yogurting is quite popular as an MMORPG. Granted it still has no English version, or did it have already?
to heart 2 tamakiTamaki rocks, the legion of Tamaki fans so declare.
anime blog – Thanks for ending up here.
boku wa imouto ni koi wo suruTwincest seems to be quite popular.
to heart 2 anime – The anime gets quite many fans. I bet if the game has an English version, it would be more popular.
wet anime – OMG, wet anime? What in the world is wet anime?
lucy maria misoraRuu~! Ruu! Ruuuuuuuu~~
negima – I miss this series, it had lot of potential. hopefully the sequel will be better.
to heart 2-tamaki – What? Another Tamaki?
to heart 2 – Anime or game?

Hmm, since it seems like To Heart 2 is dominating the search items, I should compile a more unique list:

Top 10 Topics
To Heart 2 – My project seems to be quite popular. Thanks for all the support.
Mahou Sensei Negima – This is no surprise, maybe because the [franchise->mahou-sensei-negima] is going stateside, plus the Love Hina popularity.
Yogurting – Most probably Koreans and Japanese search for this one.
School Days – Maybe many are hoping for an anime version of School Days.
Final Fantasy – I only did one Final Fantasy post.
Da Capo – More to come on Da Capo II, hopefully.
Fate/stay Night – I didn’t even focus on Fate too much.
Naruto – Because Sasuke is teh win.
Haruhi – You don’t see too much Haruhi here, but still it is a top 10.
Anime Blog – Thanks for ending up here…

… because the next ones don’t seem to want to end up here:

(If you are one who uses these search phrases, I apologize ahead and hope not to be offending you. This is for mere entertainment value, because it certainly made me laugh. Not because it’s ‘weird’ per-se, but ‘weird’ in the sense that you actually found this site using that kind of phrase. Such is the work of our still imperfect search engine logic. No matter how good they are, they probably still give bad search results. That, or I type in crappy words in blogging. Maybe the latter.)

Top Weird
anime sleeping – Did you mean sleeper hit anime? I don’t get the point of an anime ‘sleeping’…
anime crying – Oh my, are you the same person?
lonely anime, anime sad, sad anime pics, anime girl crying – Oh the drama…
anime dog – Maybe you’re searching for Nintendogs.
catfights – Probably the most generic search term that ended up here.
anime girl with glasses, anime school uniform, pe class girls, swimsuit anime pics, anime girls with blue hair, girls with short hair, anime cat girls – Oh yeah! This is what I’m talking about!
fhm hot babes, fhm babes – Amazing find! You won’t see real babes here though…
ask her hand anime, falling in love animation – Why? Do you want tips on how to get a girlfriend? You’re going to the wrong place.
sasuke is gay, gay sasuke – I wuv this one.
naruto and sasuke in love – I wuv this even more.
how do i find the the guy with the scythe on kingdom hearts2 – This is the most improbable, did I mention kingdom hearts 2 in this blog?
making love with sango – OMG… real ones are hotter you know?
buy groceries – What the hell? Never mind how you got into this blog, but do you really need the internet to buy you groceries?
atika shubert – I like this CNN gal, she reports about Japan often.
intimate moments in hidden camera – This is impossible!

Mine is none of the above. 😉

I came upon this blog because you were one of the few that covered Comic Party and its’ remake/sequel?, Comic Party Revolution.

IIRC, my search string was “Comic Party Revolution blog”.

🙂

I THINK I found this site with Mainichi Planet.

While I’d say that most of my search results are for people looking for pr0n and/or torrents, I do get some pretty amusing search results too:

(somewhat relevent to posts that I made):

xp-tan “cup size”
finnish anime subbing team
“eva Wank”
jeanne dielman torrent
random siscon

(what?):
GET DOWN TO BUSINESS
castration game
Girls mit bubblegum
But I will not keep her long
You are half the reason
all you need is dub
naruto in chinese words

I think some of those search hits are caused by spambots myself. I’ve seen hits that there’s no way any of the terms where on the site at all so they couldn’t have been an actual result from a search engine.

They’re still fun to look through though. ^_^

Haha! I’m sure everysite would have their own funny search lists. But the “making love with sango” one is hilarious.

“intimate moments in hidden camera”

Sorry, I was googling this when I clicked on your link by accident… man, I gotta be more specific.

Well, not everyone blogs about their “adventures” while playing through visual novels…

I’ve even seen someone link to your TH2 project as “a peek on how someone plays an eroge” or something along those lines. Though I do hope that someone, somewhere would replicate what you did and play… say, Utawarerumono or Fate/stay night and log their experiences about it.

Ah, I needed a good laugh this morning, “making love with sango” is just hilarious.

Some (broken) browsers send the referrer header (which is probably where your analysis tool got the search strings) of the last site visited even if you enter a url manually. So your blog need not have been among the search results.

I’m sure I came here from a blogroll at Sea Slugs (because the order in my RSS feed list says so).

Speaking of search, I have a picture of B-29 at my webpage’s section dealing with anime (yes, there’s a reason). Lots and lots of people hit it from Google Images looking for “anime”.

AIR y’knw air and bishoujo games w/c led me to read your to-heart 2 entries and the way you described the H scenes really made me laugh.
“Something fun” gehehe
I’ve been stalking you ever since after I saw your anime list.

sorry but ‘wet anime’ that made me laugh so much…obviously they’re referring to something really innocent like ‘Aria’ or mistakenly think the little mermaid is anime.

Best thing i’ve searched for was when mt friend asked me what doujinshi was before i knew *shock*.

*wonders if italics work on blog comments or if above looks silly*
